The Spirit of Scillonian III - Bourbon Barrel-Aged Rum

£49.99

The Atlantic crossing between Penzance and the Isles of Scilly is a vital lifeline, carrying islanders, visitors, flowers, and supplies across the ever-changing waters of the Southwest Approaches.

Since entering service in May 1977, Scillonian III has made that crossing her own. Built by Appledore Shipbuilders and launched by His Royal Highness the Duke of Cornwall, now King Charles III, she has become the longest-serving vessel to bear the famous name.

For 50 remarkable seasons she has sailed the 37 mile route to St Mary's, completing more than 10,000 return journeys and carrying nearly five million passengers.

To mark her final season we've crafted this commemorative Bourbon Barrel-Aged Rum in her honour. Distilled in small batches using pure Scillonian water and bottled on our farm at the first and only distillery on St Martin's, it celebrates the ship that has carried the spirit of the islands across the sea for nearly half a century.

Here's to Scillonian III (1977-2026)

ABV 42.5% DISTILLED 11/2019 BOTTLED 04/2026

Our Bourbon-Aged Rum represents a very special moment in time. This commemorative release comes from the first barrel laid down at SC Dogs Distillery.

The journey began six years ago, in the early days of our distillery, when we set this spirit aside to age in one of our Speyside Bourbon barrels.

Handcrafted in a single batch, aged and bottled on our farm, the lingering sweetness of SC Dogs Bourbon-Aged Rum is met with a touch of peppery spice.

The caramel, toffee, and butterscotch notes are balanced with sweet toffee and warm baking spices, grounded by the subtle undertones of oak. Enjoy on its own, over ice or with your favourite mixer.
